Three great ideas found on Pinterest

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! I'm so grateful for all the teachers who support me in my building and online.

I'm happy to be teaming up with some of my favorite bloggers for Pick 3: Top Pinterest Picks for the Month of May. I always like to finish out the year strong. I barely mention to my students that school will be ending for the summer. Many of the students I work with do not look forward to summer break. These are some of the ideas I think might be fun to use this month.

This is so cool! In the past I've written personal cinquain poems for each student and made them into magnets. This idea is very similar. I think the kids will like the unique layout. These were done using Wordle. Frames are a good idea. I might look for some magnetic ones. I think kids really like getting the magnets. I'm sort of thinking out loud here...how much would it cost to get them printed right onto magnets? That sounds cool, but I'd have to get organized quickly.

/I don't usually do crafts, but we're wrapping up learning about shapes, so this looks like a fun activity. I think construction paper would be fine though. No need to try to get felt.

I usually don't make much of a big deal out of Mother's Day. I always have a student whose mom is not really a part of their lives, and I don't want to make that more difficult than it already is. I am a tea lover though, so I think I will have to find a way to use this lovely FREE clipart.

  1. I'm with you on the idea of a Mother's Day Tea, Deb. I, too, always have kids whose life situation makes it hard to celebrate Mother's Day. But we do have a grand end-of-year event for all family members and nobody misses it! Will post in a couple weeks :) Thanks for sharing. Kathleen
